Andreas Fischer received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science in 2008 and 2012 from the University of Bern, Switzerland. Afterwards, he conducted post-doctoral research at the Centre for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (CENPARMI) and the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada. He currently works as Assistant Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland and as lecturer at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research interests include historical document analysis, handwriting recognition, keyword spotting, signature verification, hidden Markov models, neural networks, and graph-based pattern recognition.
