The long term goals for my research are to understand the neural mechanisms underlying dexterous manipulation and balance control in healthy, aging, and diseased individuals and develop novel therapeutic strategies to improve motor function in aging and diseased individuals. I have a broad background in neurophysiology, biomechanics, measurement of hand kinetics and kinematics, and application of a wide range of techniques including surface electromyography, transcranial magnetic (TMS) and direct current stimulation (tDCS), and electroencephalography (EEG).
